St. Louis Ambush News Release
St. Charles, MO - It was a very good week for two St. Louis Ambush players. Kory Dowell and Corey Adamson were each signed to two-year contracts with the club and both players received honorable mention from the MISL in the league's Player of the Week awards for the final week of the 2013-14 season.
Just before the season ended, Ambush owner Andrew Haines promised fans that he and Head Coach Daryl Doran would go to work on assembling next year's team as soon as the season concluded. He made good on that promise today as he announced the two-year deals for forwards Dowell and Adamson. The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, finished the 2013-14 season in sixth place with a 4-16 record and both Haines and Doran have stated that improvement will be at the forefront of their off-season moves.
Dowell is a St. Louis native who played his prep career at Bayless High and collegiate soccer at Missouri State University, St. Louis Community College at Meramec and at Maryville. In his first season with the Ambush, Dowell led the team and was tied for first place in the league in three-point goals with five. He also scored five two-point goals, five assists and contributed eight blocks. He is the only player on the team to appear in all 20 games.
Adamson hails from Clearwater, Florida and was picked from the team's open tryouts held last summer. He spent his collegiate career as USC-Aiken. In his rookie season with the Ambush, Adamson scored the team's first and last goals of the season. Corey played in 18 games and finished with eight two-point goals, four assists and ten blocks.

Haines said, "Coach Doran and I have been pleased with the progress that Dowell and Adamson have made this season. In addition to their on field production, they both have been great representatives of the Ambush in the community. We look forward to their continued development as they gain more experience and sharpen their skills in the indoor game and contribute to the future success of the franchise."
For Dowell, the opportunity to play for his hometown team is a dream come true. He said, "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play for the Ambush this past season. The St. Louis fans are the most supportive and enthusiastic in the in the league. I am honored that Andrew Haines, Daryl Doran, and the rest of the coaching staff have asked me to return to the team for the next two seasons. It has always been my dream to play professional soccer in front of my family, friends, and fans in my hometown."
Adamson also becomes a two-sport pro as he was signed by the St. Louis Attack professional indoor football team as the team's kicker. The Attack are owned by Missouri Sports Holdings, the parent company that also owns the Ambush, and begin play in the X-League on March 21. Their first home game is slated for Sunday, March 30 at the Family Arena. For more information, visit the team's website at stlouisattack.com.
Adamson is clearly thrilled to be coming back with the Ambush and about joining the Attack. He said, "I'm so excited to re-sign for the next two years here in St. Louis. I absolutely love this city and the dedication the fans gave us all season long. These fans deserve a championship team and this front office is determined to bring that here. I'm humbled and honored that they have the confidence in me to be a part of this and cannot wait to get back to work. I can't put in to words how incredible it feels to be able to represent St. Louis and this organization in two different sports. Playing for the Attack will absolutely be one of the best experiences of my life and I can't wait to kick the season off. I will do anything I can to be wearing two championship rings by this time next year."
Dowell and Adamson earned the honorable mention from the MISL for their performances in the games against the Missouri Comets on February 27 and Milwaukee Wave on March 1. In those two games, Dowell turned in three two-point goals and one assist, while Adamson contributed two two-point goals and two assists.
