It will be a pair of key home games for the Mississippi Surge this weekend, the first set of back-to-back home games of the Southern Professional Hockey League Season.
On Friday, the Surge hosts the defending President's Cup champion Columbus Cottonmouths. Each team has a record of 1-1-1 and each team has scored two more goals than it has given up in the first three games of the season.
Saturday will be a special salute to the military as part of Veteran's Day weekend festivities on the gulf coast. When the Surge take on the arch rival Pensacola Ice Flyers, the players will be decked out in special military jerseys.Tthe jerseys feature the logos of five branches of the armed forces.
Following the game, fans can bid on the game worn jerseys in a live auction. Friday's and Saturday's game each start at 7:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. There will be a public ice skating session after each game.
Season tickets for the 2012-13 Surge season are on sale now. The team also has a new line of exciting merchandise available. This season the Surge is also offering a $10 walk up ticket for kids 3-12. For more information call 228-594-3800 or log onto www.mssurge.com.
