LAREDO, Texas â The 2004 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks announced today that Joe Dominey has been honored as the 2004 Ralphie award winner as Best Team Media Relations Director as selected by www.minorleaguenews.com. "It is an honor to receive a Ralphie," said Dominey. "This past year I've been fortunate to have the chance to work with a first class organization. It is a pleasure to come to work every day and talk about hockey and the Laredo Bucks."
Dominey is entering his second year with the Bucks. He was selected as the CHL Broadcaster of the Year by The Warrior online columnist at www.inthecrease.com for his work during the 2002-03 CHL season.
"Joe brings a nice dimension to our organization," said Bucks President's John Beckelhymer. "He is able to spend the extra time needed to do a quality job with the media relations, and still do a terrific job with the radio broadcasting."
Current Tulsa Oilers play-by-play man Steve McCall was awarded a special Ralphie award for Good People for his work in the WHA-2 last year.
CHL Media Relations Director Steve Cherwonak has a Ralphie award named after him, âThe Chewy', which recognizes the person distinguishing himself as a rising star in minor league sports.

Training camp for the Bucks opens this Monday, October 11th. The Bucks host an exhibition game at the LEC on October 17th against the Mexican National Ice Hockey Team. Laredo opens the 2004-05 CHL season on the road October 22nd in San Angelo. The Bucks begin the home campaign on October 23rd against the Corpus Christi Rayz.
