
Dodge City Law Partner with Western Plains Medical Complex

The Dodge City Law, proud members of the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) are pleased to announce a multi-year partnership agreement with Western Plains Medical Complex as the premier and exclusive medical provider to the Law players and staff. Western Plains Medical Center has also purchased the naming rights for the playing field at United Wireless Arena which will be known as "Western Plains Medical Field" for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons. Dodge City Law General Manager and Owner Ricky Bertz says, "Unfortunately injuries are something that players of all sports have to take into consideration, even more so for athletes who choose the profession of playing indoor football. It is our goal and objection to provide our players with the best possible medical treatment, doctors, and facilities to avoid, minimize or help assist in the recovery from any injuries that might occur for those who are part of our team and organization. Our partnership with Western Plains Medical Complex provides our organization with the staff, doctors, facilities, and tools to offer that for not only this year but for many years to come."

Head Coach Sean Ponder has also signed a first round of players, which include local talent, as well as some strong and successful veteran indoor football players. Zack Roth is a Garden City Community College grad who went on to play football at TCU and with the New England Patriots of the NFL. He is a 6'5" 305 lb. lineman who brings depth of experience and leadership to the Law. Zach Fields, a 6'2" 235 lb. defensive lineman who grew up in Cimarron, Ks. and played for Dodge City Community College. Sloane Kern, a 6'0" 165 lb. defensive back out of Emporia State University, Blayke Spears, a 6'0" 220 lb. linebacker from Ellsworth College will all be playing their first year of professional indoor football under the Coach Ponder and Coach Ross, looking to develop their skills and talents and possibly make a move up to the CFL or the NFL in the future. Veteran players include Charles McCullum, a 6'3" 200 lb. QB out of Stillman College. McCullum has played 38 games for Coach Ponder from 2010-2013 racking up 133 passing TD's, 5934 passing yards and 1941 rushing yards with 44 rushing TD's. Charles is a dynamic and explosive quarterback and will certainly lead the team to many wins. Coach Ponder states, "by signing Charles, I believe he will be the front-runner for the CPIFL League MVP". Anthony Jackson is a 6' 5" offensive lineman weighing in at 345 lbs. He played for the IFL Kent Predators in 2010 and the Seattle Timberwolves also of the IFL in 2011 and is a graduate of Arkansas State University. Finally, Maurice "Mo" Young, a 5'11" 185 lb. wide receiver out of Tennessee State University. Young has played for the Seattle Timberwolves, Everett Raptors and the Cedar Rapids Titans, all of the IFL, and runs an impressive 4.4 40 and is an outstanding all-around athlete. His 3-year career includes 64 receptions, 755 yards and 13 TD's. He is expected to have a breakout season with the Dodge City Law.
The Dodge City Law will play all of their home games on Western Plains Medical Field at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City, KS. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from the DC football office located inside the UW Arena or by calling 620-371-7240.
