Dodge City Law Overwhelm Missouri in Exhibition

February 23, 2014 - Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL)
Dodge City Law News Release

Last night the Dodge City Law overwhelmed the Missouri Mustangs during a 60-16 exhibition victory at United Wireless Arena.

Law Running back D.D. Holyfield got into the end zone twice with a scoring run from four-yards out and another from the one-yard line. Holyfield's partner in the backfield, rookie Dominique Carson, also scored a one-yard touchdown.

Dodge City quarterback Charles McCullen earned Player of the Game honors for his efforts. McCullen had two-touchdown passes, each of which was caught by wide receiver Kendrick Ings.

Law Head Coach Sean Ponder said that McCullen has a pretty good grasp of the offense and pretty good timing with his wide receivers considering the fact that he was unable to report to camp until late last week.

The Law's defense also performed well on Saturday night. Defensive backs Daejohn Love and Mike Bragg each returned interceptions for touchdowns.

Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Demetrius Ross said that he noticed some minor mistakes on defense, but that the mistakes most likely wouldn't be apparent to the average fan.

The final points of the night for the Law came on special teams when Cashmin Thomas returned a kickoff 55 yards for a touchdown.

The Law's next game will be at Omaha on Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m.
