Dodge City Law Announce First Ever Dance Team Tryout

The Dodge City Law Professional Indoor Football Team is proud to announce auditions for their pro dance team, the `Gunpowder Girls'. The team will be officially named the Gunpowder Girls Dancers to keep with the theme of the Law and Wild West. The dancers will be under the direction of Dance Team Coordinator Lesa Dencklau. Lesa comes to Dodge City from Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she was the director of the Cedar Rapids Titans Dolls Dancers in the Indoor Football League for two years. The Law organization is seeking talented, outgoing, well-spoken young women who will entertain and cheer on the newest team in the CPIFL.

Auditions will take place on Saturday November 23rd from 9 AM - 3 PM with registration beginning at 8:30 AM at the Magouirk Conference Center next to the United Wireless Arena (4100 West Comanche Blvd). The final round of auditions and interviews will be on Sunday November 24th from 1-5 PM at the same location. There is a $25 registration fee in advance, $30 at the door. All auditions are closed to the public.

Gunpowder Girls hopefuls will be taught across the floor sequences, a high kick line combination and a short hip hop/pom routine. Dancers will also be asked to perform a short freestyle to showcase their individual talents and personality. Candidates will perform the combinations in small groups in front of a panel of local judges who will be looking for showmanship, energy, style, and personal appearance as well as girls who can pick up choreography quickly and are passionate about entertaining. Choreography will be taught by former Titan Dolls, Claire and Caroline Murphy, who were also 2013 Semi-finalists of the renowned Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders!!

All candidates must be 18 years of age at the time of auditions and a high school graduate. Audition attire must be 2 piece and tattoos should be covered and piercings removed. Registration forms are available in person at the Dodge City Law Office - 4100 West Comanche St. or online at www.dodgecityfootball.com. Audition application and registration fee can be mailed in or dropped off at the Dodge City Law Office in advance. The day of auditions, please bring completed application, copied proof of age, a nonreturnable current headshot, and audition fee.

If selected for the team, dancers will be required to attend a minimum of two practices per week as well as several scheduled community events and promotional appearances. Practices will begin in early December with the Law Season taking place from February-late June. The Gunpowder Girls will have the opportunity to entertain 3,000+ fans at all 7 home games during the 2014 season.
