Diamond Jaxx win final exhibition game

(Jackson, TN) April 5th - The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx tuned up for the start of the 2006 Southern League season with an impressive 13-1 win over Lambuth University at Pringles Park.

Diamond Jaxx 2B Eric Patterson had two hits, including the only homer of the night, and five RBI's to lead the offense. OF Adam Greenberg had two hits and an RBI as the Diamond Jaxx banged out eleven hits in the win.

Juan Mateo went five innings for the win. Mateo allowed a run on three hits with three strikeouts. Carmen Pignatiello and Lincoln Holdzkom chipped in with a scoreless inning each.

The Diamond Jaxx begin the 2006 Southern League season tomorrow night at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium as the Jaxx take on the Birmingham Barons. LHP J.R. Mathes gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Righty Ray Liotta will get the start for the Barons. Game time is set for 7:05 CDT tomorrow night.

Opening night for the upcoming 2006 season will take place at Pringles Park on Monday, April 17th against the Mississippi Braves. Diamond Jaxx fans will have 70 opportunities during the regular season to see the future stars of the Chicago Cubs in action at Pringles Park.
