Jersey Express News Release

Jersey City, N.J. (Tuesday, September 30, 2011) - The Jersey Express Professional Basketball Team have signed two D1 posts to shore up the front count. Dexter Gray starred at Iona College, and St. John's University, and Zahir Carrington was the starting power forward for Lehigh University.

Dexter Gray, 6'8 forward returns to Express! Gray played a few games for the Express last season, and averaged 27pts, and 14rbds during that stint.

Zahir Carrington, 6'9 Forward/Center Lehigh University 2010. Carrington helped Lehigh win the Patriot League Championship, and was named tournament MVP. He was also the 2-time All-League selection, and 2009 ECAC All District Selection.

Team Owner Marsha Blount; Dexter is a work-horse on the boards, who we know should be an ALL Star for us, for his scoring and rebounding ability. Zahir will surely be looked to, to help lead the team in scoring and rebounding. Both players area dynamic in the post, and should wreak havoc on the oppositions post players. They attack the rim with force, and dominanceon both ends of the floor. Dexter and Zahir will be able to push each other, and with Head Coach Terry Dehere, and Big Man Coach Luther Wright teaching them the nuances of the game, both should garner Overseas or possibly NBA interest'.

The Express will be playing its home games at the National Guard Jersey City Armory, located at 678 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ beginning with Opening night on Saturday, November 19th @ 7pm. SEASON TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW!!! General Admission Season Tickets are ONLY $105 - VIP Floor Season Tickets (includes meal, and concierge service) are ONLY $525 for 15 regular season home games.
