Detroit Shock Bring Extravaganza To The Park

Auburn Hills, MI - On Thursday, June 19 the entire Detroit Shock team will host their Third Annual Shock "Be Fit" Picnic as part of the WNBA Fit program and WNBA Cares initiative. The picnic will take place from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Bloomer Park Stone Shelter in Rochester Hills (located at 345 John R Road on the North End of John R, North of Avon Road).

Joining the Shock will be coaches, the Shockwave dance team and mascot Zap. The event is complimentary and open to the public. Those interested in attending should contact the Shock Community Relations Department at 248-377-8709.

The Shock "WNBA Fit" Picnic extravaganza will include a climbing wall, dunk tank, face painters and food provided by All About Catering. Interactive inflatables from "Shockfest," music from the Shock's DJ Earl "Mixin" McKinney, as well as, activities to stay and keep fit will be featured.

Shock players and coaches will be bringing their dogs to the picnic to promote the Second Annual "Dog Day of Summer" at The Palace of Auburn Hills, June 29, when the Shock take on the Atlanta Dream. Shock fans can take advantage of the Dog Day of Summer package, which includes two Shock tickets, one "canine" ticket, two hot dogs, two sodas and a Shock dog bandana, all for only $40.

The Shock "WNBA Fit" Picnic is presented by Mejier, HealthPlus, DMC, National City, Medical Weight Loss Clinic, T&C Federal Credit Union and Belle Tire.
