AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League (AFL) opened up their training camp with their first practice today in Utica. The Fury's three-week training camp is open to the public.
The Fury returned 11 players from the 2003 season, as well as former WR/DB Coach Jeff Russell, who is returning to the playing field. The Fury opened camp with 36 players and will cut that to 24 before starting the season.
The three-week training camp will conclude on January 30, and camp will feature a combine work-out with the Chicago Rush, Columbus Destroyers, Grand Rapids Rampage and Indiana Firebirds on Monday, January 26, 2004 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Practice runs from 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the team's full-time practice facility, the Shelby Soccer City. All players and coaches will be available immediately following practices for 10 minutes.
Opening Day: The Fury are offering a special $10, money-back guarantee ticket for opening day. Any fan that purchases a ticket in the designated section is eligible to receive their money back after the game from the Fury's Director of Operations Dave Wieme if he or she did not enjoy his or her time at The Palace.
