WDFN SLATED FOR ALL 14 REGULAR SEASON GAMES WHILE FOX SPORTS NET CALLS SIGNALS ON FIVE LIVE BROADCASTS

AUBURN HILLS, MICH.- The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League have once again partnered up with Sports Radio 1130 AM WDFN and Fox Sports Net Detroit to bring fans all of the exciting action the Fury has to offer.

"WDFN and Fox Sports Net come immediately to mind when fans think hometown sports coverage," Fury General Manager Greg Myford said. "Both do a terrific job of getting at the core of what fans want to know about their teams, and as only a second-year franchise in a great sports city like Detroit, the Fury welcomes these partnerships."

WDFN will broadcast every regular season game for the coming 2002 season. Jamie Samuelsen returns as the "Voice of the Fury", while Al "Bubba" Baker will provide the insight for all home games.

""The Fury and SportsRadio 1130, The Fan are a perfect fit," said WDFN Operations Manager Gregg Henson. "Arena football is a fresh, exciting approach to sports play-by-play. The partnership couldn't be more exciting."

For the past eight years, Samuelsen has worked for Sportsradio 1130, WDFN in

Detroit in various capacities. He started in 1994 as a reporter and update anchor, before becoming a full-time talk show host in 1995. For the past two years, he has co-hosted the "Jamie and Gregg" show along with Gregg Henson in the morning drive slot. Samuelsen came to Detroit from Chicago where he worked for one year for the Illinois News Network.

In 1978 Baker was drafted by the Detroit Lions as the first pick of the second round. As a rookie, he was voted to the All-Pro team, selected as the defensive lineman of the year

-MORE- and rookie of the year. He gave many quarterbacks headaches, literally, recording 23 QB sacks. He went on to play with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1983 and then the Cleveland Browns in 1987. After a short stint with the Minnesota Vikings in 1988, he returned to the Browns (1989-90) to finish off his career. He has played in six pro bowls and three AFC-NFC Championship games.

On the television side, veteran broadcasters Mark Champion and Jim Brandstatter are also locked up for season two. Champion will once again handle the play-by-play duties while Brandstatter remains as the color commentator. Fox Sports will televise the following games (all times EST):

Saturday, May 4 BUFFALO 7:30 PM Saturday, May 18 INDIANA 7:30 PM Saturday, June 22 CHICAGO 7:30 PM Saturday, July 6 @ Dallas 8:30 PM Saturday, July 13 TAMPA BAY 7:30 PM

"Fox Sports Net is again pleased to be associated with the Fury and their exciting brand of entertainment," said FSN Regional General Manager Hunter Nickell. "Along with being a terrific in-arena product, the fast-paced action of the AFL also translates well to viewers at home."

Detroit knows Champion as the radio voice of the Lions, a role he has held for the past 13 seasons. Prior to the Lions, Champion called games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers dating back to 1979. Other highlights on Champion's football resume include play-by-play duties for the Citrus Bowl, Orange Bowl and Hall of Fame Bowl (now Outback Bowl). Champion calls many of the Detroit Pistons' radio broadcasts and in the past has also provided play-by-play duties to Michigan State Basketball.

Brandstatter brings his extensive football analyst experience to the Fury, having served as the color man for the Detroit Lions statewide radio network for the past 15 seasons. He also handles the color duties for UofM's football team on their statewide radio network as well. Brandstatter was a three-year letter winner at the UofM, participating in two Rose Bowls (1970 & 72) and was All-Big Ten in 1971. He also was a member of the Big-Ten championship teams in 1969 and 1971.
