Despite slow start, Macon-based Georgia Gwizzlies have sights on ABA finals

The American Basketball Association Georgia Gwizzlies coach still think it can bring the city of Macon,Georgia national sports acclaim with an ABA championship trophy.

"Since Coach Tucker was relieved of his duties at the D-League team and Atlanta Hawks Harold Ellis no longer coaches in the minors,I'm probaly the Dean of minor league coaches,going on my fourth straight year as Head Coach of the Gwizzlies" states Embry Malone.

Malone who has won over 85 percent of the games he has coached for the Gwizzlies since 2004,and SEBL coach of the year 2005, believes his revamped squad will reach Quebec,Canada the site of the ABA finals.

The Gwizzlies starting five will be 6"5 Chad Thomas PG,6"7 Brian Festog SG ,6"7 Mike Davis SF ,6"8 A.J. Stallworth PF and 6"9 Xavier Morton at center.Rounding out the team will be 6"1 Stuart Mitchell, 6"7 Jame Webb,6"6 Ron Jackson,6"10 Yanif Ducreay and 7"2 Charlie Ludwig who will come off injuried reserve in January.
