Denver Outlaws defeat the Atlanta Blaze

The Atlanta Blaze traveled to Denver, Colorado this Saturday night which would end up becoming a great comeback game for the Denver Outlaws. The Blaze did started off with a very strong, high scoring start however Denver finally found their offensive game and won the game, 18-11.

Atlanta started off blazing hot with a 6-2 lead coming from multiple players and a two-point goal as well. It appeared the Blaze had a solid lead throughout the first half, always leading by at least three goals. However, Atlanta began to find themselves in a lot of penalty trouble that led to man-up opportunities for Denver and in turn led to several goals for the Outlaws. Multiple players scored for the Outlaws including Wesley Berg and Jeremy Sieverts, but at halftime the score showed Atlanta with a solid lead over the Outlaws 9-6.

The beginning of the third quarter started hot for the Blaze with an immediate score by Chris May, the faceoff specialist. However shortly after, Wesley Berg and the Outlaws answered back with two goals of their own, cutting the lead to 10-7. Three quick goals by Denver soon had the game all tied up with only twelve minutes left in the third quarter. Sieverts adds another goal creating the first lead for the Outlaws since their 1-0 start of the game. Wes Berg ended the quarter with a hat trick and led Denver to a 14-11 lead going into the 4th quarter.

The fourth quarter was nothing but Outlaws. They scored four more goals and ended the game with a final score of 18-11.

Wesley Berg was the Coca-Cola player of the game with his hat-trick and big plays when Denver needed them the most. When asked how he felt about his team's standings Berg stated, "We feel we're in a really good spot and just need to keep winning."

The Atlanta Blaze will play their next game home on July 23rd at 7pm against the Florida Launch.
