Salt Lake City, Utah - Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC owner and Wasatch Group Founder and CEO Dell Loy Hansen and Wasatch Property Management announced a new program on Wednesday aimed at assisting residents of Wasatch Properties impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Short Term Assistance and Relief (STAR) program allows Wasatch Property Management residents to access a short-term rent deferment to help meet their rental requirements. The STAR deferment will have no interest and the amount of repayment will be dispersed among the remaining months of the resident's lease term.

"In this trying time, Wasatch is committed to help. Caring is one of our five key principles and with so much uncertainty in many people's lives because of a pandemic that is affecting people throughout the world, we wanted to provide some stability and relief," Wasatch Premier Properties Chief Operating Officer Jarom Johnson said. "We worked closely together with Mr. Hansen to proactively work toward the best impact for our residents and create solutions so they don't have to wait until the need becomes dire."

The STAR program will assist residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with the payment of rent if the need arises out of a substantial decrease in household or business income or substantial out-of-pocket medical expenses.

The STAR program joins a growing list of efforts by Mr. Hansen to provide relief in Utah communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. In recent weeks Mr. Hansen, through work of the RSL Foundation, has made donations to provide 22,250 meals to the Utah Food Bank, launched the "Leo Wants to Know" online learning initiative through the Scoring for Schools Program and opened an emergency domestic violence shelter on Thursday.

Founded in 1988 by Mr. Hansen, Wasatch Property Management (WPM) operates 34 apartment complexes throughout the state of Utah - 10 of which are income restricted properties, along with properties in Arizona, California, Colorado and Washington.

Residents interested in participating in the program are encouraged to contact their property managers.
