Decatur tops Buford

The energy was high as the top two teams faced each other. Buford jumped out early on Decatur, proving they came prepared for a fight. Magic's #11 Jacob Frazier caused match up problems for Decatur and wasted no time getting his game off, lighting up the Court Kings every chance he got. He led Buford to a 43-41 lead at the half with 19pts and 6reb. #3 Will Belton contributed to the match up problems as well, defending Decatur's guards aggressively. Belton's defensive effort earned him 5reb and 4stl to go along with 6asst by halftime. Buford seemed to have Decatur right where they wanted them going into the second half but Decatur came out strong in the third quarter. After leading Decatur with 13pts at the half, #10 Al Stewart continued his offensive attack, shooting 3/3 from 3pt range, and #32 Pig Miller showed his versatility by knocking down his second 3pt shot for the game, to help Decatur clench the lead. The Court Kings would also convert on 12 of 15 free throw shots in the third to take a 73-66 lead. The Magic continued to play physical against the Court Kings, and would lose #23 Markeal King and #5 Mike Griffin to foul trouble. Decatur led by as much as 11 in the fourth but struggled to knock down their free throws, allowing Buford to make a come back to within two points. Then, Al Stewart converted on 3/4 free throws in the final seconds to secure the win.
