DC Divas gearing up for the 2003 season

D.C. Divas News Release


The DC Divas are preparing for the opening of the 2003 season in the National Women's Football Association (NWFA). The Divas have been in the league for three years. All home games will start at 7:05pm and will be played at Eastern High School, 1700 East Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC.

This year's team consists of a 60-woman roster with 36 veteran returning players. The rookies will play an important role this year. The rookies open a new stream of fans and possible sponsors. Rookie nose guard and defensive tackle, Rebecca Glasgow playing with the Divas is "awesome, the greatest thing I've ever done, this is a dream come true"! Rebecca is spearheading the drive to have cheerleaders at our home games. Rebecca owns and operates the Planting the Seed Day Care in Stafford, VA. Rebecca is a 1999 graduate of N. Stafford High School.

The National Women's Football Association has 30 teams playing in 5 divisions. The NWFA has signed up 4 teams for 2004. The league website, www.womensfootballcentral.com receives almost 2 million hits per month.
