Daredevils Add James Penny to the Roster
October 8, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Niagara Daredevils News Release
With only a few days left before training camp gets underway; the Niagara DareDevils signed James Penny. Penny is a former member of the Calgary Drillers and is familiar with the ABA rules, making him a great asset to the DareDevils line-up. Penny played four years of college ball with Division I, Texas Christian University and was a driving force behind the team making the NCAA's March Madness in 1998, despite an early round loss.
Coach Otis is fully aware of Penny's high flying abilities, having coached him as a member of both the Calgary Drillers and the Tijuana Diablos. Penny is a very well rounded player, his shot blocking record still the 4th highest at his alma mater only to be outshined by his scoring ability that placed him 6th in the USBL in 2004 with a 19.7 ppg average.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
