Danville Dans News Release

(DANVILLE, IL) - The Danville Dans are working their way to a record-setting season in the Prospect League.

The Dans swept the Hannibal Cavemen Monday night 1-0 and 12-1 in Hannibal. That improves their record to 38-16, giving them a 4.5 game lead over division foe Quincy Gems, who lost at home to Terre Haute 3-6. That makes the Dans magic number 2 to clinch the top spot in the West Division. Danville secured a playoff spot Sunday with a 8-4 win at Springfield, combined with a loss by Hannibal.

Danville's 38 victories is two short of tying the Prospect League record for most wins in a season. The Dans have six games remaining - including four at home:

- Danville takes on Terre Haute at 6:30 pm Tuesday, July 30

- Quincy comes to Danville Thursday night at 6:30 pm

- The Dans face Hannibal Friday at 6:30 pm

- Danville concludes the home regular schedule Saturday against Terre Haute at 6:30 pm

The Prospect League Division Series are scheduled to be played August 6 - 8 in a best of three series. The playoffs will start at the 2nd place team, with the top squad hosting games 2 & 3 (if necessary). The West Division Champion will host the first game of the league's Championship Series on Saturday, August 10, with games August 12 & 13 (if needed) at the East Division winner.
