DANVILLE, IL - It's not only the other teams in the Prospect League that have noticed the Danville Dans winning ways during 2013.

The Dans were ranked 15 in the July 15 Perfect Game USA college summer league weekly ranking. This is the Dans first time in the rankings this season. Teams from such prominent collegiate leagues such as Prospect, Cape Cod, Northwoods, Coastal Plain, Alaska, and others are included in this listing.

"This is a great recognition for the hard work of our Danville Dans," said managing partner Jeanie Cooke. "To receive this nod from Perfect Game is a great honor for our club."

During the week prior to the ranking, the Dans went 4-1 while staying atop the West Division with the best record in the Prospect League. This stretch included the culmination of an 11-game winning streak, along with winning two out of three against division foe Quincy Gems. Quincy is ranked 22nd in the national listing.

Perfect Game's national ranking of summer clubs are graded on the following criteria: won-loss record, league dominance, depth and quality of professional-level talent and the overall strength of the league. Teams must have at least a .500 record.

Danville is currently 29-12, 2 games ahead of the Gems in the West Division. They have three days off for the Prospect League All-Star Game.

Danville is sending five players to the Prospect League All-Star game in Butler, PA - including West Division starting pitcher Troy Conyers. The University of San Diego LHP is 4-0 in his six starts. He's thrown 46 strikeouts - ranking 2nd in the league - and has a 1.16 ERA.

Joining Conyers as reserves on the team will be OF Casey Fletcher (Kankakee Community College and University of Illinois walk-on in 2013-14), 3B Tyler Selesky (Florida Gulf Coast), RHP reliever Miles Nordgren (Birmingham Southern), and IF Chet Simoneaux (University of Louisiana at Monroe).
