Dans McCormick Named Pitcher of the Week

(DANVILLE, IL) - Following an eight-inning outing last week, Danville Dans pitcher Michael McCormick has been named the Prospect League Pitcher of the Week.

A Parkland College product, McCormick will be attending Eastern Illinois University this fall. He was recognized for his outing against the Hannibal Cavemen, where he gave up just one run on two hits, leading the Dans to an 11-1 win that night. He also struck out four while walking just one batter.

On the season, McCormick has appeared in six games, starting five of them. He's tied for the sixth in the league with 27 strikeouts in 33.1 innings, while walking just 12. He's 2-2 with a 1.62as a 2.89 ERA.

Danville Dans are in their 28th season of summer collegiate baseball. A founding member of the Prospect League, players from California, Florida, Texas and across the Midwest are in Danville to improve their fielding skills and batting with wood bats.
