
Dans Baker Named Player of the Week

(DANVILLE, IL) - For the second week in a row, a Danville Dans pitcher has been named the Prospect League Pitcher of the Week.
Bryan Baker, a freshman from University of North Florida, received the honor for the week ending June 15. Baker's one appearance that week as a 10-0 win against Hannibal. He pitched seven innings and struck out 11 while giving up just four hits and walking one. He held the league-leading hitter (Christian Cavaness) to 1-4 that night.
On the season, Baker has appeared in five games, starting two. He's tied for the league lead with 29 strikeouts in 18.2 innings, and has a 2.89 ERA.
Baker is scheduled to start the first game of a doubleheader tonight with the Springfield Sliders. Game time is 6:00 pm at Danville Stadium.
Danville Dans are in their 27th season and are a member of the Prospect League, one of the premier college summer leagues in the nation. Baseball players from California, Florida, and all across the Midwest are in Danville to improve their fielding skills and batting with wood bats. With this dedication, it is no wonder that some players advance to the major leagues, including 23 former Dans players.
