Faith & Family Night Sponsored by Jerricho Partnership
The Danbury Whalers Professional Hockey Team are proud to announce the Inaugural Faith and Family Night on Saturday, February 7th at the Danbury Ice Arena when the Whalers take on the Watertown Wolves. This night will feature performances by the Christian bands New Method and Pursuing JC. The pre-game show will begin at 6:50pm and puck drop is at 7:35pm. The bands will be featured during intermissions as well.
This event is sponsored by Jericho Partnership, Inc., a collaboration of 10 Christ-centered ministries and 25 metro Danbury urban and suburban congregations; three foundations; and thousands of volunteers. Jericho's purpose is to mobilize word-and-deed ministry and transform the city of Danbury for the glory of God and the common good of all, in the spirit of the Good Samaritan. The Partnership delivers outcomes of excellence in 5 key areas focusing on Danbury's youth, at-risk populations and the most vulnerable, through programs in education, healthcare, housing, counselling and mentoring. The Pursuing JC band first started at Shelter Rock Church back in 2011 and began as a youth group band with just one song. However, once heard they quickly found that their level of playing ability gained them much deserved attention and they were soon invited to churches and festivals throughout Long Island.
In 2013, they performed over 80 shows and now have over 120 songs in their portfolio. The band has a reputation of producing an amazing technical sound along with lead singer Michael Ottavio, whose deep and powerful voice resonates throughout any room. And at only 12 years of age you won't want to miss the fast paced drumming of Corinne De Rosa, who's pink drum sticks are always well in hand.
In June the group of 9 band members won the Got Talent Long Island, Audience Choice Award.
All church groups will receive discounted tickets of just $13 for adults and $9 fr kids 10 and under!
