REMINDER - TONIGHT - Get ready to hit The Cookhouse in New Milford, on Wednesday, August 13th at 7 pm. TONIGHT it is The Cookhouse 7-Minute BBQ Burger Challenge.

Five fans plus a member of Danbury Whalers organization each will attempt to eat their own BBQ Burger that weighs in at over 3 pounds. The catch is, it has to be finished in a 7-minute time limit. Complete the challenge and you have won some great prizes from The Cookhouse and the Danbury Whalers.

What are the contents of the BBQ Burger?

2-8 oz. homemade burger patties

1/4 lb. pulled pork

1/4 lb. brisket

1/4 lb. andouille sausage

1/4 lb. pulled chix

2 strips of bacon - maple bacon?

1 piece of chic fried steak

3 onion rings

1 slice each of american, cheddar, swiss and pepperjack cheese

BBQ sauce on one bun, comeback sauce on the other

Plus - Lettuce, tomato and onion - vegetables make it healthy

As part of the night, the Whalers will purchase your first beverage and specials will be available throughout the night.

Take a Kid to the Game League Wide Community Program

The Federal Hockey League and Danbury Whalers are proud to announce a new league wide program - Take a Kid to the Game. This season all FHL member teams will be participating and partnering with businesses and individuals throughout their local communities to bring underprivileged groups and organizations to hockey games.

The program's designed goal is to bring families, groups, and organizations who might not have the ability to purchase tickets, a chance to have a night out at no cost.

As part of the program the participating sponsors will be recognized on the team website and social media. Promotional announcements and recognition will also take place on the game night with the receiving group.

To date, the Take a Kid to the Game program is being sponsored by the following organizations - Crossroads Auto Body, Industrial Automation, Johnstone Company, Kennedy Gustafson & Cole, Keith Edward Olsen Architect, Liberty Mutual, Rizzo Companies, & Virtual Density.

Teams in each market are currently developing lists of groups and are also interested in hearing from organizations interested in receiving the donated tickets.

Top Executive Mary Dinardo Joins Whalers Front Office

The Danbury Whalers proudly announce that Mary DiNardo as joined the organization as the team's Assistant Director of Marketing. Mary's role will focus on developing marketing programs and hospitality events for the corporate community.

Mary, originally from the Bronx, New York, brings more than 20+ years in sales, marketing and promotional events. Mary's background includes owning a boutique advertising agency as well as spending 15 years in the radio industry.

Mary's background also includes ten years working in the corporate environment as a Sales Executive working for Big Blue (IBM) managing a $1M account portfolio.

On her joining the Whalers, Mary commented, "I'm very excited by this opportunity. I'm looking forward to my first season in professional hockey and getting involved throughout the community."

Buffalo Wild Wings Teacher Appreciation Night

The Danbury Whalers and Buffalo Wild Wings of Danbury have announced the 3rd Annual Teacher Appreciation Night. This event will take place on a TBD night during the 2014-15 Whalers season.

On this night, Buffalo Wild Wings extends an offer to all area teachers. Receive a complimentary ticket to that night's Whalers game and enjoy a complimentary pre-game meal of wings and a beverage of your choice at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Danbury Whalers Ticket Plans On Sale - Reserve Yours Today

Danbury Whalers full season and ticket package plans are now available for the 2014-15 season.

The Danbury Whalers have a ticket plan that can fit every fan. The Whalers offer full season tickets, half seasons, and 10-ticket flex books.

Fans purchasing a full season ticket receive almost 9 games free of charge.

Full season ticket plans are $340. Based on a 30 game ticket package, tickets come in a little over $11, which is a significant savings off the box office rate.

For the fan who needs flexibility in the ticket plan, the Danbury Whalers have the 10 game voucher plan and the half season package.

The undated 10-game pack is a flexible plan which can be used at any game with multiple vouchers being used that night. This plan works best for the fan who, will be attending games but does not know which ones. The cost on this package is $125 per voucher book.

Voucher books make great gifts, are awesome ways to thank someone for a great effort, and also make the winters a lot of fun for families.

The Half Season ticket package is 15 games of your choice. Fans purchasing a Half Season get to select their seat location and have that seat for all of their games. Cost of this plan is $187.50.

With these partial plans, fans purchasing receive 20% of their games at no charge.

With all tickets plans, fans receive have a chance to purchase parking for $1 per game (66% discount).
