Kirschner Named FHL Player of the Month for December
The Federal Hockey League has announced the Danbury Whalers forward, #17 Alec Kirschner has been named Player of the Month for the month of December.
His stats for December are 10 Games played, with 14 goals and 12 helpers for 26 points.
The King's big game came on December 3rd vs. Cape Cod when he hit the back of the net 6 times (setting and FHL record) and assisted on another

This Saturday, January 7th at 7:35 PM, the Danbury Whalers are home to take on the Delaware Federals. It's Newtown Nighthawks Night where a portion of the ticket sales go to the benefit of the Newtown High School Hockey Program.
The night will focus on the needs of the Newtown High School Ice Hockey program and the growing challenge the group faces in meeting their budget each season.
The program for the night includes the Newtown Ice Hockey Booster Club providing fans with in seat food service and a Danbury Whalers experience auction.
The culmination of the night will be the auction of the official Danbury Whalers blue jerseys complete with the special edition Newtown Nighthawks patch on the chest, 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Newtown Nighthawks
It is also a Scott Ridge Middle School fundraising night as well. Scott Ridge Middle School is part of the Ridgefield school system.
Danbury Westerners Night with the Danbury Whalers This Friday
This Friday, January 6th, at 7:35 PM, the Danbury Whalers take on the defending FHL Champion Akwesasne Warriors. This night is Danbury Westerners Night with the Whalers.
The Danbury Westerners are members New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) and play their games at Rogers Park in Danbury.
The Westerners roster consists of the top collegiate players throughout the country. These are the futures stars of the game, right here in our very own backyard. Over the years, they have had numerous players drafted (over 40) and have had a handful of former players reach the Major Leagues.
Since the Danbury Whalers announced their team on 12/29/09, the two organizations have formed a very strong partnership with each team hosting a game during the other team's season.
On Friday at the Danbury Ice Arena, fans will have a chance to meet members of the Westerners organization and get ticket information for the upcoming 2012 season.
Tickets are $5 for adults and kids under 12 are free.
Don't let another summer go by without showing your kids what baseball is supposed to be like. Playing for the love of the game, all made possible by people who love the game just as much.

Danbury Whalers Sending Two Fans to the Stanley Cup Finals
The Danbury Whalers are proud to announce an incredible promotion that is going to make a hockey's fans dream come true.
This season, the Danbury Whalers are working with the Nick Fotiu Foundation and The Original Sportsraffle at sportsraffle.net to send two fans to a Stanley Cup Finals game.
For rest of the season at each Danbury Whalers home game, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for $1. At that game we will draw a winner. That winner will become a finalist and then be entered into the final drawing set for the last game of the season on Sunday, March 4th.
At that March 4th game during the 2nd intermission one of the finalists will be drawn and will be selected as the winner.
The winning prize is 2 - tickets to a Stanley Cup Finals game, travel to the game, and lodging.

Big Buddha Cigar Lounge "Night with the Whalers"
This season the Danbury Whalers are working with the Big Buddha Cigar Lounge in Newtown on some fantastic promotions.
The Big Buddha Cigar Lounge is a Newtown-based smoking lounge offering members and patrons access to a public smoking room with TVs, free Wi-Fi Internet access, comfortable seating, and a retail shop featuring goods such as cigars, pipes, accessories, tobacco and more.
This season, fans have a chance to win gift certificates and store credits through various promotions throughout the Danbury Whalers home games.
One lucky fan will also win a free 12-month membership at the Big Buddha Cigar Lounge by signing up through the Whalers Season Long Grand Prize Promotion
Coming up on Wednesday, January 25th it will be the Big Buddha Cigar Lounge and Danbury Whalers "Night with the Boys". On this night there will be an exclusive event with the Danbury Whalers players and fans hanging out at the Big Buddha Cigar Lounge for an evening of fun.
