Danbury Whalers to Honor Postal Joe

Joe Trench Invited to Make

1st Selection for Draft

On Wednesday, June 25th at around 7 pm at Billy Beans on White Street, the Danbury Whalers will be on the clock to make their 1st round selection in the 2nd Annual Federal Hockey League College / Junior Hockey Draft.

In most cases this selection would be made by the General Manger, Head Coach, or one of the team owners, however this year for the Danbury Whalers they are extending an invitation - right here - right now to Season Ticket Holder, Section 102, Row C, Seat 1 - Brookfield native, Ridgefield Postman - Postal Joe - Joe Trench.

Joe Trench, also known as Postal Joe, has been a long time Danbury hockey fan. Postal Joe enjoys his Danbury Whalers Hockey and Joe we would be honored if you would make this 1st selection of the 2014 Draft for us.

Joe's career line for the Danbury Whalers include almost perfect attendance at over 120 games the last 4 years. He's journeyed to Dayton, Brooklyn, New Jersey and if the Whalers played a game on the moon, he'd find a way to get there.

Postal Joe attends non-game night events at TK's, Two Steps, Buffalo Wild Wings, Billy Beans, The Cookhouse or wherever the Whalers might be that night. If it's the Whalers - Postal Joe is going to be there.

Postal Joe's love for the game has afforded him a chance to perfect his gameday craft - heckling the other team or as he likes to call them "chirps". There are few, if any, better than Postal Joe at this and he has received numerous accolades and head nodding acknowledgements from many of the players around the Federal Hockey League.

A personal favorite is Postal Joe's patented walk to the penalty box with beverage in hand, he leans in and coyly gets the opposing player to look at him. The player who has just been in a fight with a Whalers player, is adjusting his gear, checking his teeth and Postal Joe hits him with, "Hey in five minutes you get to go out there and get beat up again." Timing is everything and he turns and walks away before a response can be uttered.

Thank you Postal Joe. Please accept our invitation. It would be an honor to have you make this selection for our organization.

Sincerely,

The Danbury Whalers
