The Danbury Whalers are proud to announce that they will be sending two Danbury Whalers fans to the Stanley Cup Finals again this season. Last year Whalers season ticket holder Stacy Ashby won two tickets to see a Stanley Cup Finals game and took in Game 2 in New Jersey with her husband Rob.

Fans can qualify in a drawing each night. That night's winner goes to the final drawing on the last game of the season. The winner then gets the tickets and is off to see the game in June.

Coincidentally, Stacy is a Devils fan and it worked for her. Maybe this year a Rangers fan will win.

To participate in this contest, listen to the nightly announcements next time you are at a Whalers game and you could this year's lucky fan.

Whalers Home This Saturday Night

There is nothing like a Saturday Night of Danbury Whalers Hockey. This Saturday, January 19th at 7:35 PM the league's top team the Dayton Demonz come into town and it is going to be a barn burner.

It's the first game of three straight home games with the Whalers hitting the ice on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Be sure to be there for all the hard hitting action, bring a friend, bring a buddy, bring your dad - have a great time and let it all hang out.

Skate with the Whalers

Hit the ice this Sunday

This Sunday, January 20th, following the Whalers 5:05 PM game against the Danville Dashers, fans will be invited onto the ice to skate with the Whalers players.

Traditionally after every Whalers home game the players sign autographs for the fans in the lobby, but for this game fans will have a chance to put on their skates and hit the ice with the favorite men in green.

The players will be available for pictures during this event as well. So put on your skates, bring your camera and head down to the Danbury Ice Arena for what is sure to be a great event.

Fans looking to rent skates that day, can pick up a pair at the Danbury Ice Arena for $4 at the skate rental desk at the arena.

Monday's game in Danbury on Martin Luther King Day is the 2nd of a back to back contest with the Dashers. The game is sure to be tightly contested as both teams are battling for playoff position.

Hockey Night at TK's Rangers vs. Bruins 1/23/13

On Wednesday, January 23rd come join the Danbury Whalers players at TK's American Café on 255 White Street in Danbury for Hockey Night in TK's. The featured game is the New York Rangers vs. the Boston Bruins with the puck dropping at 7:35 PM.

Watch the game with the Danbury Whalers and hear about hockey from guys who know the game inside and out.

Attending fans can also participate and compete against the Whalers players in the Danbury Whalers Fantasy Hockey Challenge. Last year's winner was Keith Lombard aka Lucky Dog. Some say the fix was in.

Whalers Sign Phil Aucoin

Former AHL Player

The Danbury Whalers have announced that they have signed forward Phil Aucoin.

Aucoin made his Whalers debut this past weekend and in two games registered 3 goals and 3 assists. The Whalers went split those games with a win on Friday and loss on Saturday.

Aucoin, 31 years old from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, was a college teammate of Whalers defenseman Lynn Beedle at Norwich University. Following his collegiate career, Aucoin has played 7 professional seasons, including 3 games in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins (2 games - 2 assists) and the Albany Devils. (1 game). Aucoin has played in the ECHL, CHL and various leagues in Europe.

Whalers Bring Back Forward Matt Caranci

The Danbury Whalers announced today that forward Matt Caranci has re-signed with the team.

The Toronto native spent last season with the Danbury Whalers, tallying 25 points in 45 games. Caranci has played a total of 82 games with the Danbury Whalers over the last two seasons, scoring 18 goals and adding 32 assists for 49 points.

Matt had spent three games in the SPHL this season.

"Matt has been a hard working player for us the last few years and I thought getting him in here now would be a good move. We are hoping that he can provide a spark for us and be as effective as he has been for us in the past", said Coach Esposito on the signing.
