This year, Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 11th.
However if you are a Danbury Whalers fan - Friday, February 21st could be a special day for your and your mom.
Buffalo Wild Wings and the Danbury Whalers have announced the Inaugural Mom Appreciation Night. This event will take place on Friday, February 21st when the Whalers take on the Watertown Privateers.
On this night, Buffalo Wild Wings extends an offer to all Moms.
Receive a complimentary ticket to that night's Whalers game Enjoy a complimentary pre-game meal of wings Plus a beverage of your choice at Buffalo Wild Wings.
In addition at the game that night, all participating Moms will be invited down to the ice. Here they will participate in a contest to try to win a great gift package.
The on ice contest will be both crowd vote and competition as the crowd will get to vote on their favorite Mom story as well as a shootout challenge.

Buffalo Wild Wings with over 750 national franchises, opened in 2010 on 26 Backus Avenue in Danbury. Evan Manes and group, Four M Capital, the owners of the Danbury franchise, own nine franchises throughout the New York - Metro area.

Danbury Whalers Home This Weekend Feb 8th & 9th vs. Dayton Demonz
The Danbury Whalers are home this weekend. This weekend features a 2-game series vs. the Dayton Demonz on Saturday, February 8th at 7:35 pm and Sunday, February 9th at 6:35 pm.
The game on the 9th is the makeup from the game that was snowed out on December 14th. Fans holding tickets to that event can use them for this game or exchange for another game subject to availability.
The Whalers and Demonz are in 1st and 2nd place. The Whalers currently hold the top position, but the lead is just a few points.
This weekend's game features the 2nd Annual Quality Gem / Danbury Whalers / Comcast Spotlight Diamond Dig.
For the 2nd straight season, Quality Gem, Comcast Spotlight, and the Danbury Whalers are offering fans a chance to take home a $3,000 diamond pendant. The fan who locates the diamond gets to take home the treasure.
Prior to that night's contest a diamond will be buried within the ice playing surface. At the end of the 2nd period, fans will be brought out onto the ice and will be given a chance to find its location.

On Sunday, the Danbury Whalers and TK's American Café of Danbury are recognizing all area fire fighters and fire departments with Fireman Appreciation Night.

Banner Day - February 21st
NEW Prizes Announced
The Danbury Whalers and Union Savings Bank are proud to announce the Inaugural Banner Day promotion will be held on Friday, February 21st at the Danbury Ice Arena when the Whalers take on the Watertown Privateers. Gametime is 7:35 pm.
At the Danbury Whalers & Union Saving Bank Banner Day, fans of all ages will be asked to design and construct a banner with a message, slogan, or tribute to the team. There will be a panel of judges as well as a vote from the fans. The winning banners will take home a grand prize package courtesy of Union Savings Bank and the Danbury Whalers.

Goal Donation
This month for every Danbury Whalers goal, the Danbury law firm of Ventura, Ribeiro, & Smith will donate $100.
The contribution will be made towards Habit for Humanity.
Last month VRS donated $3,000 to Family and Children's Aid.
