Danbury Whalers News Release
The Danbury Whalers are proud to announce the Inaugural Meet the Danbury Whalers Breakfast on Friday, November 1st. The guest speaker for the event will be former New Jersey Devils defenseman, 3-time Stanley Cup winner, 20 year NHL veteran, and current MSG Hockey Night Live commentator, Ken Daneyko.
The event will take place at the Matrix Conference & Banquet Center at 39 Old Ridgebury Road in Danbury and starts at 7:30 AM. Tickets are for the event are $35.
The program will feature the 2013-14 edition of the Danbury Whalers Opening Night roster. The players will all be in attendance and will be introduced to the fans. Danbury Whalers Head Coach / Director of Hockey Operations, Phil Esposito will offer his thoughts and overview on the season and a preview of what to look for when the Whalers hit the ice.
Ken Daneyko is sure to bring a great presentation to Danbury. With stories of competing in 4-Stanley Cup Finals (winning 3), having his number #3 jersey retired by the Devils, being a part of the Stephane Matteau Game 7 Overtime loss to the Rangers, playing in front of Martin Brodeur, being a defensive partner of both Scott Stevens and Scott Niedermayer, playing more games than any player in a Devils uniform, playing for Herb Brooks, and growing up in Canada with Mark Messier as a boyhood friend this is a can't miss event.
As part of the event there will be an auction of sports memorabilia and experiences.
This event is part of great week of events for the Opening Night of Danbury Whalers hockey. Opening night for the Whalers is set for Saturday, November 2nd at 7:35 PM vs. the 1000 Islands Privateers at the Danbury Ice Arena.

HVCASA Pay it Forward
Nominate Your Neighbor
The Danbury Whalers and HVCASA are proud to announce a renewed partnership for the upcoming season. This marks the fourth straight season the two organizations have worked together.
A new promotional piece into the Whalers experience this year will be the HVCASA Pay it Forward. Fans will have chance to "Pay it Forward" where they can nominate a friend, family member, or an individual in the community who they would like recognize for doing a good deed. Fans can also choose to enter a good deed or something they have done about themselves to help the community.
Fans will have a chance to drop off these nominations at the Whalers Customer Service Booth during every home game.
During one game each month, representatives from HVCASA will be on hand to announce the entries received and recognize the individuals. At the end of the year, fans will have a chance to vote the best "HVCASA Pay it Forward" of the year.
HVCASA Executive Director, Allison Fulton commented, "When we look at the community we see so many positives. Too often they go unrecognized. We'd like to get the message out about how much good there is around us and really acknowledge some of these incredible stories."
Back on the schedule for the 4th straight year is HVCASA Black Friday. This season on Friday, November 29th when the Whalers take on the Dayton Demonz fans will have a chance to go home with a ton of great prizes and gifts. There will be contests throughout the night and if you don't go home with something, you weren't really trying.
HVCASA is the Housatonic Valley Coalition Against Substance Abuse. HVCASA is a coalition of volunteers, citizens, and prevention professionals dedicated to developing and coordinating services that reduce the harmful effects of substance abuse and addiction on individuals, families, and children living and working in the twenty-two towns that comprise the Northwest corner of Connecticut.

Parking Passes On Sale
Park for $1 Per Game
The Danbury Whalers have announced that parking passes are on sale. As part of a special program, Danbury Whalers season ticket holders can purchase a season long parking pass for $30 which works out to $1 per game.
The regular season rate is $3 per game, over the course of the season the purchase of a parking pass saves 33%.

The Danbury Parking Authority and the Danbury Whalers are back for third season of a promotional campaign designed to educate and create awareness for hockey fans as to where they can park safely, legally, and most cost effectively in Danbury.

4th Annual Green & White Game
September 27 - Free Agent Camp
500 Minutes of Hockey
The Federal Hockey League Champion, Danbury Whalers have announced that on Thursday, September 26th and Friday, September 27th, the team will be holding its 4th Annual September Open Free Agent Tryout Camp. The camp will culminate with the playing of the 4th Annual Green & White Game on Friday.
The Green & White game will feature returning veteran Whalers, players who have been invited to the team's official training camp as well as numerous free agent candidates from this camp and the June camp. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
Starting on Thursday morning free agent hopefuls will hit the ice in an attempt to receive an invitation to the Danbury Whalers Training Camp in October. The entire camp will feature over 500 minutes of on ice action
Tickets for the Green & White Game are $5 and can be purchased in advance by calling the Danbury Whalers at 973-713-7547 or at the ticket office on the day of the game. This event is free for season ticket holders.

Danbury Whalers Championship Fan Rings Are Available
The 2012-13 Federal Hockey League Champions, the Danbury Whalers are proud to announce an offer to their fans to purchase a replica Championship ring.
The commemorative rings, the Whalers are offering are available in two different styles. One comes personalized with the fan's name, while the other says #1 Fan. The costs are as follows, $300 for the personalized version and $150 for the #1 Fan ring. Rings will take 4-6 weeks to arrive.
