DaCosta Recalled by Lake Erie

ALLEN, Texas The Allen Americans have announced that defenseman Justin DaCosta has been recalled by the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.

DaCosta, 25, has registered 6 goals and 17 assists for the Americans this season in 47 games. The Mississauga, Ontario native was acquired by Allen in the offseason after skating 2009-10 with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.

The 5' 10" blue-liner leads the Americans D-men in power play goal scoring with three tallies with the extra man.

The move is the Americans 15th AHL call-up during the 2010-11 season, tops in the Central Hockey League.

Lake Erie skates Friday night in Rockford and Saturday at home against Abbotsford, before finishing up their regular season on the road in Rochester.

Meanwhile, Allen awaits its second round opponent in the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Playoffs, after sweeping the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in Round One.

The dates, for the second round home dates have been announced however. Games one and two of the Second Round playoff series will take place on Thursday, April 14th at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, April 17th at 6:00 PM. The first 1,500 fans in attendance for both games will receive an Americans Rally-Pom.

If necessary, game five will also take place at the Allen Event Center, at a date to be determined.
