DEVELOPING STORY: On the brink of tipping off its seventh season, the D-League begins the 2007-08 season with a record nine assignments before opening day, bringing the all-time total to 71 assignments from NBA parent teams to their D-League affiliates in only three years. Additionally, Eddie Gill, the first overall selection in the 2007 D-League Draft, earned the first Gatorade Call-Up of the season from the New Jersey Nets. With Gill's preseason call-up, there have now been 91 Gatorade Call-Ups in the history of the league.

MAHINMI ASSIGNED: The San Antonio Spurs assigned Ian Mahinmi on November 21, making him the ninth assignment this season, and the first ever Spurs assignment since purchasing their D-League affiliate Austin Toros. Mahinmi has seen action in six regular-season games for the Spurs this season, and is averaging 3.5 points and 0.8 rebounds in 3.8 minutes per game.

44: The number of players with D-League experience on 2007-08 NBA opening day rosters makes up 10% of all NBA players and is up from 35 to start the 2006-07 season.

ALL-STAR PREVIEW: The second-annual D-League All-Star Game will be played Saturday, February 16 as part of 2008 NBA All-Star festivities in New Orleans. The game will be played at Jam Session Center Court.

ON NBA TV: NBA TV will air more than 60 D-League games this season, and will complement game coverage with This Week in the D-League,a bi-weekly show hosted by Rick Kamala which is the definitive source of basketball news and information about the D-League. The half-hour program delivers insights on the league from journalists, players, coaches, and officials as well as NBA front office executives, with a spotlight on players moving to and from the D-League. Additional season-long coverage of the D-League includes programming dedicated to the D-League Showcase and the second-annual D-League All-Star Game.

IN REVIEW: The Dakota Wizards won the D-League title last season, defeating the Colorado 14ers, 129-121 in overtime, April 29 in Bismarck, North Dakota.
