Colorado Crush News Release

DENVER - The Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League has signed one of the most durable players in AFL history, adding free agent lineman Kyle Moore-Brown to its roster.

Terms of Moore-Brown's contract were not disclosed.

Moore-Brown played nine seasons with the Firebirds, beginning with the 1995 season in Albany, N.Y., and remaining with the team when it relocated to Indianapolis in 2001.

Remarkably, the 6-foot-4, 306-pound Moore-Brown never has missed a game in his entire AFL career, his streak of consecutive games played now at 139, including playoffs.

"I've had Kyle a long time," Crush Coach Mike Dailey, who coached the Firebirds in both Albany and Indiana, said. "He is one of the most durable players I've ever seen, in any league. To have 139 straight starts, in any pro league, is almost unheard of.

"Kyle is a great team leader and has a tremendous professional demeanor. He will bring a tremendous knowledge of Arena football to the Crush program."

Moore-Brown played college football at Kansas, a defensive linemate of Green Bay Packers standout Gilbert Brown and San Francisco 49ers lineman Dana Stubblefield. He still ranks fourth on Kansas' all-time sacks list, with 15, and five assists. Though he played strictly on defense at Kansas, he made a smooth transition to the offensive line in the AFL, where linemen play both ways, and was Indiana's starting center. He likely will play both guard and center for the Crush.

Moore-Brown was on the NFL's Detroit Lions roster during the 1994 season.

The Crush has signed 21 free agents for the 2004 season. Previously announced free agent signees were: quarterbacks Matt Lytle, Jose Davis and Jay McDonagh, fullback-linebackers Rich Young, Sununguru Rusununguko and John Peaua, two-way linemen Derrick Pickens, Hugh Hunter, Pat Downey and Don Klein, defensive specialists Tony Scott and Rashad Floyd, wide receiver-defensive backs Darcey Levy, Robert Redd, Willis Marshall, Windrell Hayes, James Rooths, Ron Rogers and Margin Hooks and kicker Anthony Brenner.

Season tickets for the 2004 Crush now are available. For information, call 303-352-1000, or visit coloradocrush.com. The Crush's season opener is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6, vs. the Las Vegas Gladiators at Pepsi Center.

The AFL begins its second season on NBC-TV on Feb. 8. The Crush's first game on NBC-TV is scheduled for Feb. 22, against the Chicago Rush at Allstate Arena, in Rosemont, Ill.
