Crew to Host Viewing Party of MLS SuperDraft

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Friday, January 9) - Columbus Crew President and General Manager Jim Smith announced today that The Crew will host a viewing/listening party for the 2004 MLS SuperDraft next Friday, January 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Huntington Club at Crew Stadium.

The draft, presented by adidas, will begin at 10 a.m. at the Charlotte (N.C.) Convention Center in conjunction with Fifty-Seventh Annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention.

"This is a great opportunity for our fans to get excited for the upcoming season," said Smith. "There are some very good players available in the draft and we look forward to welcoming all of our picks into The Crew family."

The first hour of the draft will be televised live on Fox Sports World, while it can be heard in its entirety via the Web on MatchNight.com presented by adidas.

Dwight Burgess, The Voice of The Crew, will host the Webcast on MatchNight.com. He will be joined on the show throughout the draft by ESPN.com writer Marc Connolly, New York Daily News writer Michael Lewis and other assorted guests.

Select Crew players will be on hand throughout the party in the Huntington Club and a buffet lunch and beverages will be available for purchase starting at 11 a.m. Crew prizes will also be given away through a raffle. The Huntington Club will open at 9:30 a.m.
