Coyle Re-Assigned to AHL Affiliate

Boise, ID (2/19/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that defenseman Jace Coyle has been re-assigned from the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads to Texas of the American Hockey League.

Idaho and Texas are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars. Coyle is under an NHL contract with Dallas.

The second-year pro out of Cranbrook, BC, has 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) in 30 games with the Steelheads this season, including nine (four goals, five assists) in his past eight games at the ECHL level.

Coyle has skated in 52 games at the AHL level - the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America - over two seasons, scoring one goal and picking up five assists.

Idaho has six active defensemen on its roster - Matt Case, James Isaacs, Scott Todd, Patrick Cullity, Ken Trentowski, and William Lacasse. John Ryder is on the 21-day Injured List.

The Steelheads return to home ice Friday night, February 22, to host the San Francisco Bulls at CenturyLink Arena in Boise. Friday is Project Filter Autograph Card giveaway night with a team-wide autograph session following the game.
