
Cosmos Decline Options on Johnson, Diaz and Nealis

NEW YORK (November 26 2014) - The New York Cosmos announced today that the team has decided not to offer contract extensions to goalkeeper Steven Diaz, winger Jemal Johnson, and defender Jimmy Nealis for the 2015 season.
Johnson, 29, signed with the Cosmos on June 7, 2013 and made one appearance in his debut season with the team while recovering from injury. He made 19 appearances for the club in the 2014 season, scoring one goal and recording two assists.
Nealis, 23, was signed by the Cosmos on October 25, 2013. A native of Massapequa, NY, Nealis made three starts in three appearances for the club.
Diaz, 28, was signed by the Cosmos in August 2014 as the third goalkeeper behind Jimmy Maurer and Kyle Zobeck. Diaz did not make an appearance for the club.
