Corvallis erased a West Coast League Championship Series (WCLCS) game three 4-2 deficit by scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh-inning at Goss Stadium, as the Knights edged Bellingham 6-4 on Tuesday night before a crowd of 1,112 to win the West Coast League title.

The Knights won the WCLCS opener 4-0 at Bellingham as Jake Wong (Grand Canyon) and Trenton Dupre (Washington State) combined to shutout the Bells. Bellingham bounced back with a 5-2 game two win at Corvallis behind the stellar starting pitching of Jon Olsen of UCLA.

Tuesday's rubber match featured starting pitchers UC Irvine junior-to-be southpaw Cameron Bishop of Corvallis and Cal sophomore-to-be hurler Joey Matulovich of Bellingham.

The Bells took the early 3-1 lead thanks to UCLA incoming frosh Chase Strumpf's two-run homer, his third of the postseason.

The Knights used a big seventh-inning to take their first lead of the game as Oregon State's Andy Atwood delivered a one-out RBI single followed by a game-winning two-run homer by Roman Garcia of University of San Diego.

Corvallis' bullpen would make the advantage hold as Chris Burkholder of Dartmouth pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win and southpaw Trenton Dupre recorded the final four outs to register the save.

Dupre recorded two saves in the WCLCS and retired all 13 batters he faced with 7 strikeouts.

With the Knights WCLCS victory, Corvallis secured its 4th WCL championship.
