Cormier gets two games

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Disciplinary Prefect on Tuesday imposed a two-game suspension to Océanic forward Patrice Cormier for throwing a punch in the first period of last Saturday's game between the Drakkar and the Océanic at the Colisée in Rimouski.

The breakdown of the suspension is as follows: an automatic one-game suspension for the assessed aggressor penalty (code 4.1) as well as an additional game for the gesture in question; a first degree offense in nature (the lowest degree). Moreover, the organization is fined $500.

The decision was rendered after reviewing the videotape of the incident and consulting all concerned parties. The suspension is in effect as of today.

In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the Disciplinary Prefect will not be available for further comment.
