London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, Ontario) -The London Lightning is proud to welcome over 700 people from over 20 nonprofit organizations on behalf of Copps Buildall for game two of their best of five series against the Brampton A's.

Throughout the season, the London Lightning has ensured corporate sponsorships mirror the organization's goals and objectives within the community. Strong corporate partnerships have allowed the Lightning to consistently welcome members of the London community who may not otherwise have the means to attend a game.

When a corporate sponsor purchases a block of tickets for their staff and clients, the London Lightning always encourages the sponsor to donate a portion back to different organizations in the community.

After witnessing the numerous community initiatives the London Lightning has been involved in all season, Copps Buildall was adamant about making a contribution of their own to the London community. Copps Buildall generously purchased over 1,500 tickets, half of which were donated to members of the Pillar Nonprofit Network.

The Pillar Nonprofit Network supports nonprofit organizations in fulfilling their missions in the London community. Pillar provides leadership, advocacy and support to the non-profit sector through the promotion of volunteerism, professional development and networking opportunities, and information sharing. The Pillar Nonprofit Network assisted Copps Buildall and the London Lightning in donating tickets to over 700 individuals from over 20 nonprofit organizations in the network including, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, the Ark Aid Street Mission and the Canadian Cancer Society.

The Lightning will look to earn their first win of the series on Wednesday. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. and playoff tickets are available through the Budweiser Gardens Box Office.
