MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game homestand with a 4-2 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A, Miami Marlins) on Friday night at AutoZone Park.

All nine Memphis batters recorded a hit in the victory. Right fielder Colton Ledbetter tied the game with a single in the fifth inning and later scored the lead run on designated hitter César Prieto's double. The Redbirds added an important insurance run from MLB Rehabber Ramón Urías' seventh inning RBI single.

Starting pitcher Brandt Thompson (3-1) allowed two runs on five hits, walked three and struck out seven to earn the win. The right-handed pitcher worked 5.0 innings, the longest Memphis start of the series, to help rest a taxed bullpen. Brycen Mautz, Austin Love and Ryan Murphy combined to shut out the Jumbo Shimp out of the bullpen. Murphy stranded the tying run in scoring position in the eighth and retired the tying run in the ninth to tally a five-out save.

The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park on Saturday, August 22 to continue a six-game homestand against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A, Miami Marlins) with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CDT.
