
Commandos now 3-0, Mayhem record first win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Cincinnati won its third straight Friday ousting Fort Wayne 55-27 at Memorial Coliseum. The offense was there, but this time an opportunistic defense converted five Firehawk turnovers into touchdowns and made light work of Fort Wayne.
Trailing 7-0 early in the first quarter, the Commandos (3-0) scored four unanswered touchdowns to take a 28-7 lead in the second quarter. They'd expand their lead to 42-13 after one half.
Ben Mauk of Cincinnati finished with 16-of-23 passing for 141 yards and five touchdowns. Dominick Goodman hauled in six of those passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Greg Moore led the Commandos running game with 10 carries for 17 yards and a touchdown.
For the Firehawks (0-1), Justin Wynn rushed 8 times for 85 yards and two scores. Brandon Williams had six carries for 31 yards. Wynn who replaced injured Adam Gibson at quarterback, hit six-of-21 passes for 44 yards and four interceptions. Gibson connected on 4-of-14 passes for 43 yards. Zach Rainey had five receptions for 53 yards. Fort Wayne finished with 10-of-36 passing including five interceptions, one fumble and 4 sacks and
Fort Wayne finished with 183 yards of total office on 53 plays. (120 rushing, 63 yards passing.) Cincinnati churned out 163 yards of offense on 37 plays (133 passing, 30 yards rushing)
Fort Wayne hosts Miami Valley Saturday. Cincinnati welcomes Wisconsin.
MARION 60, CHICAGO 20
MARION, OHIO - Chicago stayed with Marion through the first half before the host Mayhem scored the games final 40 points to thump Chicago 60-40
The Cardinals (0-1) took a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter on a six yard run by Adam Chorazy. Despite an interception and three missed field goals, Chicago managed to stay close through the first half tailing just 27-20 at halftime.
Marion jumped out to a 41-20 lead early in the fourth quarter as Josh Davis answered the bell with three touchdown passes - including two strikes to Mike Tatum.
Chicago had 149 total yards on 47 plays (113 passing, 36 rushing). Marion tallied 176 yards on 32 plays (139 passing, 37 rushing.)
For Chicago, Ron Ricciardi completed 13-of-33 passes, including four interceptions for134 yards and two touchdowns. Chorazy rushed five times for 16 yards and a touchdown. Diomede Cardone had four receptions for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
Marion was led by Josh Davis connected on 12-of-21 passes for 148 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran 4 times for 27 yards. Maurice Douse had 4 receptions for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Tatum also had two touchdowns.
These teams meet up again Saturday in Chicago.
