
Commandos Clean up End-of-Season Awards

The Cincinnati Commandos added more hardware to go along with their 2010 Continental Indoor Football League championship trophy after the league announced on Wednesday its end-of-year awards.

Quarterback Ben Mauk (UC), who won the CIFL Championship Game MVP Award after Cincinnati's 54-40 win over Wisconsin on June 26, was named the CIFL Most Valuable Player. Mauk led the league in total offense (175.1 ypg), total touchdowns (50), passing yards (1,430), completion percentage (66.0), completions (134) and passing touchdowns (46).

Mauk's former college teammate and most trusted receiver, WR Dominick Goodman, was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year. Goodman topped the league in receptions (47), receiving yards (473) and receiving touchdowns (18).

Cincinnati defensive end James Spikes, who led the league in sacks (15) and tackles for loss (19), shared Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors with Fort Wayne's Tramaine Billie.

After the Commandos finished their 9-1 regular-season campaign ranked first in both total offense and defense, head coach Billy Back was named Co-Coach of the Year, sharing the honors with Brian Wells of Miami Valley.

Additionally, 14 Commandos received All-CIFL honors, including eight on the first team. Below is the complete list of All-CIFL first and second teamers.
