Kansas City Command News Release
KANSAS CITY- The Kansas City Command announced today the addition of Ryan Myers to the football operations staff as the new director of player personnel.
Myers has a wealth of experience in professional football scouting and player personnel. He is currently the west coast National Football League scouting consultant for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
Before his stint in the CFL, Myers spent three years with the San Francisco 49ers as a pro personnel scout. In his role with the 49ers, Myers assisted the pro scouting department with its evaluation of NFL talent. He was also responsible for maintaining current NFL roster boards and depth charts, as well as coordinating player tryouts and visits to the 49ers facility. Myers assisted San Francisco with advance scouting, too, which entailed traveling each weekend to evaluate the 49ers' upcoming opponent.
Myers will team up with Command head coach Danton Barto to recruit the best players possible for the 2012 season.
"Ryan opens a lot of doors for us, especially when it comes to players just on their way out of the NFL," Barto said. "He knows how to evaluate talent, and I know he still has very close relationships throughout the National Football League. Ryan will be able to bring in quality players, and he'll also be able to help the guys we have through his network. We're very excited to have him."
And as for Myers, he is also excited for the opportunity to delve into the Arena Football League.
"I'm thrilled to be apart of an organization like the Kansas City Command," Myers said. "I'm excited to work with coach Barto to put together the absolute best roster possible. We will always be evaluating our own players and consistently seek the best options in terms of adding players. Our goal is to build a championship caliber roster."
