Cleveland Comets News Release
Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Comets have reached a two-year deal with veteran outfielder Shellie Robinson, team officials announced on Wednesday.
Robinson, who spent the past three seasons with the Akron Racers, belted 8 home runs and added 30 RBI while batting .297 during an All-NPF campaign in 2017.
"Shellie is a true professional with an incredible talent," Comets general manager Stephen Dunn said. "We're eager to have her arrive in Cleveland and look forward to seeing her have her best season yet."
Robinson was selected in the 5th round of the 2015 NPF Draft with the 23rd overall pick. Robinson held a .404 hitting average, 62 runs batted in and 23 home runs at USC Upstate.
In her three years with the Racers, Robinson cemented herself as one of the game's most potent threats at the plate, recording 34 extra-base hits and 70 RBI in that span.
A native of DeLand Florida, Robinson is the daughter of Thomas and Denise Robinson. Shellie has two sisters; Stephanie and Jessica, as well as three brothers; Stephen, Jonathan and Micah.
Robinson is set to join an impressive new crop of talent making its way to Cleveland in 2018.
