
Columbus' Shawn Bates Named Easton Player of the Month

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (April 1, 2015) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Shawn Bates of the Columbus Cottonmouths is the Easton Player of the Month for March.
The Vermilion, AB native scored 10 goals and added nine assists in 12 games as he led the SPHL in scoring in March. Bates recorded six multi-point and three multi-goal games as he helped the Cottonmouths capture second place in the regular season standings.
Named to the SPHL All-Rookie Team earlier today, Bates (Vermilion, AB) played parts of four seasons at Merrimack College before turning pro.
