Columbus Crew SC News Release
The Columbus Crew lost, 3-1, against Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The Crew's 101 away goals (26 in 2023; 34 in 2024; 26 in 2025; 15 in 2026) since 2023 are the second-most in MLS during that timespan. The Crew join Inter Miami CF (111) as the only two teams in MLS with 100 or more away goals since the start of 2023.
Homegrown forward Chase Adams registered his first regular season goal for the Crew on a header in the 41st minute of the match. At 18 years and 120 days old, he is the youngest goalscorer in Crew history.
Adams scored his second goal across all competitions (one regular season, one in 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup).
Starting tonight's match, Adams became the third-youngest player in Club history to start his first regular season match.
1. Danny Szetela (17 years, 117 days old) vs. CHI (Oct. 2, 2004)
2. Taha Habroune (18 years, 68 days old) at RSL (April 13, 2024)
3. Chase Adams (18 years, 120 days old) at CLT (Aug. 15, 2026)
4. Aidan Morris (18 years, 326 days old) vs. MTL (Oct. 7, 2020)
Defender Brooks Lennon in his first start with the Crew assisted Adam's goal, his first of 2026 and 48th career.
Midfielder Lautaro Giaccone in his first MLS start registered the secondary assist.
Defender Malte Amundsen tonight made his 150th regular season appearance.
Forward Josef Martínez made his Crew debut, entering the match at the 70th minute.
