Columbus Blue Jackets Acquire Conditional Draft Pick from Anaheim Ducks in Exchange for Forward Joak

Syracuse, NY (July 15, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired a conditional draft pick from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Joakim Lindstrom.

Lindstrom, 24, appeared in 49 games with the Crunch last season and led the team in scoring, collecting 25 goals, 35 assists and 68 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 25 games with Columbus last year, registering 3 goals, 4 assists and 14 penalty minutes.

Over the last four seasons, Lindstrom has skated in 176 games with the Crunch, racking up 62 goals, 91 assists and 154 penalty minutes, good for seventh all-time in points (153), tied for eighth in goals and ninth in assists in franchise history. He also leaves Syracuse tied for seventh all-time in game-winning goals (9).

In 37 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Lindstrom has recorded 8 points (4g, 4a) and 18 penalty minutes.

A native of Skelleftea, Sweden, Lindstrom was drafted by Columbus in the second round, 41st overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
