Columbus Riverdragons News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Columbus Riverdragons have acquired point guard Nate Green from the National Basketball Development League available player pool, according to an announcement today by NBDL Executive Director Karl Hicks and Columbus Head Coach Jeff Malone. The Riverdragons waived forward Eric Williams.

This is Green's second tour of duty in the NBDL. The 2000 Indiana State graduate played 35 regular season and five playoff games at point guard for the North Charleston Lowgators last season. Green started 31 regular season games and all five playoff games.

Among the final cuts of the Indiana Pacers this year, Green averaged 6.1 points and 4.1 assists for the Lowgators last season. His 2001-02 assists total was good enough for fourth in the NBDL. He finished his Indiana State career as the all-time steals leader and fourth in career assists. He averaged 13.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a senior at ISU.

Williams played in five games for the Riverdragons, averaging 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds. He also played seven games with the Greenville Groove earlier this season.

Green, 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds, is expected to be in uniform when the Riverdragons host Greenville at 6 p.m. ET today. He will wear jersey number 6.
