Kentucky Retros News Release

Louisville, KY. Tree Rollins, President of Basketball Operations for the ABA Kentucky Colonels professional basketball team today announced the signing of the first two players for the team scheduled to begin play in November. Both players are from the state of Kentucky and both have NCAA Division I college experience. They are:

Anthony Epps - 6'0" Guard (Kentucky). Epps was the starting point guard for the 1996 National Champion Kentucky Wildcats. "I'm ecstatic," said Epps. "It's a chance to play in front of my family and friends. A lot of people want to play in the NBA, but this is the next best thing and I'm looking forward to it."

Antwain Barbour - 6'5" Guard (Kentucky). Barbour was a Wabash Community College All-Star player before he transferred to Kentucky. "It's a new beginning for me," he said. "It's another chance to play basketball and showcase my talent. It opened up, and we have a chance to play for the Colonels. It's something special."

"This is the starting foundation of our team," says Rollins. "Basketball fans in the state of Kentucky know their names and how well they can play and lead their team. We couldn't be any happier to be naming Anthony and Antwain as the first two starts of the Kentucky Colonels."

"Anthony won a national championship as a point guard. I'll depend on him to do some coaching on the floor," added Head Coach Henry Bacon. "And Antwain is a pure talent. He's remarkable in the way he operates on the floor."
