Rockford Thunder News Release
ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder and General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today that they will host a coaches clinic on Saturday, March 8 at the team's indoor training facility from 12-2:30 p.m.
The cost for each coach to participate is $25 for the 2.5-hour training seminar and each coach will receive lunch as part of the afternoon. The clinic is open to both baseball and softball coaches interested in learning drills they can use to better prepare the youth.
"Our primary purpose of this clinic is to provide coaches with some different drills and techniques they can teach their respective teams," said Moore. "We don't want to tell them how to coach their teams, but we feel we have some extremely qualified people that can help when working with kids."
The coaches attending the clinic will be divided into 4-5 small groups for 30-minute rotations, so they are able to get more in-depth instruction. The different rotations will be hitting, pitching/catching, infield/outfield and strength/agility.
To register for the open tryout, coaches can download the registration form online at http://www.thunderprofastpitch.com/community/ or they can also call the team office at (815) 965-7000. Pre-registration forms are due in the office by March 6, 2008.
