Cliff Clinkscales Named to NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team

(Toronto, ON) - He is the greatest floor general in the history of the league, a playmaker who brought out the best in teammates, and his city, alike - and now he is taking his place dishing it out to the best players ever to don the uniform.
Today, the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) named Cliff Clinkscales to the 10th Anniversary All-Time Team, comprised of the 10 greatest players in league history. Further players will be announced on the league homepage (nblcanada.ca) and social media channels through from April 14.
"'The General' was the ultimate teammate who lived for creating opportunities for his teammates. He was an amazing point guard, a player all about making others better, making others shine," said Audley Stephenson, NBLC VP of Basketball Operations. "On and off the court, the mark he has left on the City of Halifax is remarkable. Talk to anyone in Halifax and mention the name 'Cliff Clinkscales' and they're going to smile."
Playing with the Halifax Rainmen (2014-15) and Halifax Hurricanes (2015-20), Clinkscales made four straight NBLC Finals appearances, winning a championship with the Hurricanes in 2016. The 6-foot-1 inch point guard is the all-time league leader in assists with 1,660, a number more than 900 more than any active player. He is also fourth in all-time in both games played (224) and steals (279). Today, Clinkscales serves as Lead Assistant Coach & Manager of Player Development for the KW Titans.
The NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team was selected by a 13-person committee of former league personnel, coaches, and front office staff. Voters selected players based on numerous factors, including impact on league, on-court play, longevity, representative of league values on and off the court, influence, and community involvement.

No. 6. Ryan Anderson, Ottawa SkyHawks (2013-14), Windsor Express (2014-15, 2018-19), London Lightning (2015-18)
No. 5. Billy White, Halifax Hurricanes (2015-18), Moncton Magic (2018-20), and Windsor Express (2021-)
No. 4. Brandon Robinson, Mississauga Power (2011-12), Halifax Rainmen (2012), PEI Island Storm (2012-15), Windsor Express (2016)
No. 3. Gabe Freeman, London Lightning (2011-13), St. John Mill Rates (2015-16), St. John Riptide (2016-17), and Halifax Hurricanes (2018-20)
