Warrensville Heights Oh - The Cleveland franchise is proud to announce it has accepted an invitation into the AIF (American Indoor Football) for the 2014 season.

"Joining the AIF is a very exciting opportunity for Cleveland. We felt this was best for our organization." states Owner/General Manager Joshua Votaw. Along with the move into the AIF the franchise has decided to re-name to the Cleveland Patriots. Said Mr. Votaw "With Cleveland being home to one of the largest VA facilities in the U.S. and to honor all Veterans we felt it important to re-brand the Cleveland franchise the Patriots."

In joining the AIF, which was formed in 2012 by former AIFA co-founder and co-owner John Morris, the Patriots are coming into a league with the vision to better accommodate and service the needs of its member teams going forward.

"We set out to make the AIF the most competitive league in the country," said League CEO John Morris, "The Patriots will certainly help us continue down that path." The AIF, with eight member franchises, brings the Patriots into a league with a strong foundation. "With the addition of the Cleveland Patriots, essentially we were able to maintain the integrity of the AIF while reducing the travel costs for many teams as well." Said John Morris, "It's great to have a team with their competitiveness in the AIF."
